Is Lululemon Ethical?

Judge its response by verified remedies and product evidence, and read the limited guarantee before paying extra.

What does Lululemon disclose about recruitment fees?

Its 2025 modern-slavery statement, published in May 2026, describes potential forced-labour indicators identified at two Taiwanese fabric suppliers and a subcontractor following a 2024 investigation. The company says it supported repayment plans and confidential worker surveys to check whether fees were fully reimbursed. It does not describe those surveys as completed universal proof. The statement also reports three forced-labour-related grievances during 2025: one closed after confirming resolution with the worker, while two remained open for verification or further corrective work. These are company-reported cases, not a judicial finding that every supplier uses forced labour.

The important issue is whether people paid to obtain a job and then had to work to recover that debt. A code banning recruitment fees is only part of the answer. A worker-confirmed refund, freedom to leave and protection from retaliation matter more than a policy document. Lululemon deserves credit for identifying unfinished remedies; the unfinished part must remain visible.

Who owns Lululemon now?

Has Lululemon been found to sell unsafe leggings?

The Texas attorney general announced an investigation in April 2026 into possible PFAS presence and whether Lululemon misled customers about product safety and quality. For a particular purchase, ask about the precise fabric, finish and model. Neither a wellness image nor a frightening headline gives you the concentration or exposure information needed to judge an item. Is the Quality Promise a lifetime guarantee?

That can help with a genuine early failure, but it is different from replacing any old pair that pills or becomes worn. Keep proof of purchase and the description of the intended activity. Compare a yoga item with another yoga item, rather than assuming every fabric is designed to tolerate the same friction or exercise. What practical value do its services add?

Lululemon advertises complimentary hemming among its in-store services. A fit adjustment can make an existing item more usable, but confirm that your garment and location qualify before relying on it. Before buying, decide what performance you need and test the fit through the movements you actually make. A technical feature you never use is not good value merely because it sounds specialised. If existing clothing already does the job, this assessment gives no reason to replace it.

A comfortable product and useful service can be real benefits without settling those wider questions.
