10 Most Ethical Companies You Can Buy Stock In (2026)

Mashinii Research ·

Out of 5,300+ companies in our database, the vast majority score negative on average. Finding companies that score positive across multiple values is genuinely difficult.

These 10 are the best we found.

What They Have in Common

Most are technology or services companies. Low physical footprint means fewer environmental and supply chain risks. Digital products do not require factories, raw materials, or animal testing.

But the scores are not driven by absence of harm alone. Visa scores +50 on cultural respect and +40 on fair pay -- those are active investments, not passive avoidance.

Cisco has documented supply chain ethics programs, worker safety initiatives, and community investment that produce positive scores across multiple values.

None Are Perfect

Even stronger performers have trade-offs. Visa currently has one negative value, climate, at -10. Salesforce scores -10 on weapons and worker respect and -30 on waste, while Apple scores -30 on fair pay. Check each live company record because these values change as new evidence is verified.

A positive average does not mean a clean sheet. It means the documented positives outweigh the documented negatives.

The Rarity

An average score above zero is rare. Most companies in our database average between -5 and -20. The companies on this list are statistical outliers.

They are not here because they have perfect ethics. They are here because they have the best evidence of ethical behaviour in a dataset of 135,796 scores where the default is negative.

The Gaps

The list is dominated by US and European tech companies. Consumer brands, energy companies, banks, and manufacturers are absent. If you want to invest ethically in those sectors, the options are limited.

This is not a recommendation to buy any stock. It is a data observation: ethical performance at scale is concentrated in specific sectors and company types.
